(1) Each cereal box has a volume of 120 cubic centimeters.
(2) The cardboard carton has a volume of 2400 cubic centimeters.

Answer is E. It's obvious that no single statement is enuf to answer. Even if we consider both statements necessary, we cannot conclude the exact number of cereal boxes that can be shipped as we dont know the shape of Carton.

Statement 1: Provides no information regarding the size of the carton. Hence insufficient
Statement 2: Provides no information regarding the size of the boxes. Hence insufficient

Combining 1 & 2 does not reveal the dimensions of the box neither the carton. number of boxes that could be placed in the carton will depend on the face of the box which will be placed at the base of the carton. SO we need to know each faces of box & carton and how boxes are being placed in the carton.

Hence Option E

Clearly option A and B, are out since
In statement 1, we have no information of total volume of the cardboard carton.
In statement 2, we have no information of total volume of the cereal boxes.

Even on combining both the statement, we cannot clearly say how many cereal boxes can be shipped because boxes ,
with length 6,breadth 5 and height 4 is different
when compared to boxes,
with length 8,breadth 5 and height 3 (with same volume = 120)
fit differently in the cardboard carton of length 20,breadth 10 and height 12(with volume, 2400)
Hence, insufficient.(Option E)

Even if we were given the dimensions of the box and carton,
can we assume that boxes will be the only item to be put in the carton?
